Ruta Triangulo del Arte

Art tour

The Route begins in the Nicolás Salmerón Park, an emblematic green space in Almería, marked by palm trees and centenary trees. This park, divided into three areas (Parque Viejo, Paseo de San Luis and Parque Nuevo), reflects the urban evolution of the city since the 19th century, linked to the demolition of the city walls, the expansion of the port and the connection between the old town and the port. From here, visit the Puerta de Almería Archaeological Site, which houses the remains of a 10th century Muslim wall and a Roman salting factory from the 1st century AD, highlighting the strategic and commercial importance of the city in the Mediterranean.

The tour continues with the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Realism, located in the former Royal Hospital (16th century), which exhibits works by artists such as Sorolla, Zuloaga and Antonio López, combining art with a Renaissance courtyard and Mudejar ceilings. Finally, on Paseo de Almería, the Museo Casa Pakyta – a 1928 regionalist mansion – exhibits local art from the 19th century to the Grupo Indaliano of the 1950s. This museum, donated by Francisca Díaz Torres, unites tradition and modernity, closing a route that intertwines history, archaeology and art in the heart of the city.
